I do a lot of names and currently I change the color of each letter so my machine will cut the thread between each letter so I don't have a jumper that I have to cut out. Is there a way to achieve this without the hassle of changing the colors? I am working on a picture patch and don't want those jumpers.

Hello,
You can select the text and turn on "always" trim in the software. If the jump is >2mm it will be added. Anything less than 2mm will generally fall into the fabric and not enough room for the machine cutters.
However, realize, the setting in the software depends on the machine. The machine can override this setting. So you should check the requirements are optional settings at your machine. Some machines will only trim at a color change. The software cannot force the machine to cut.

I have had good luck by changing the 2mm to 1mm. Don't forget to press enter for it to take effect.

Hello,
Indeed, trimming is very depending on your embroidery maschine. You have to know your maschine very well.
An ideea:
I was using embroidery files created with Hatch to test my Embroidery maschine.
These files I could use now for different embroidery maschine to know how the embroidery maschine will react.
I made a video about it ( unfortunate is in german, but if you are interested in it, I could add english as "undertitle" )
The design is very simple ( just some lines at different distance to each other) with trim activated/deactivated /or >x mm.
And then just testing the conflicts with my maschine configuration and look what my maschine is doing at the end.
I tested my Brother Innovis V3 LE.
These type of information is useful also, when you are wonder why the same embroidery design may be different from a maschine to maschine. Especially if you want to sell the embroidery files and the people who test your files have different results.
Best regards,
Diana
