Export cutting file

PLEASE, I need help! I am desperately trying to export an applique file to send to my ScanNCut. I have applique files with a separate file for the die line/placement stitch. I have tried and tired to save the export the file. I am NOT computer illiterate. I am an intermediate computer user and understand how to do 80% or more on computers and software. When I go to export cutting file the export file is greyed out and nothing I try will light it up for me to export. What am I missing? There has to be a step somewhere that I am missing. I have watched YouTube and asked questions on FB Hatch groups, and nothing I try works. I have tons of applique files that I need to be able to cut the fabric for (doing it by hand is becoming more and more difficult for me). I hate having a feature that I can use and unable to use it because I can't get it to work. I need to cut about 30 appliques at a time (same design). Can someone please walk me through this step by painful step?

I think we could help you better if you submitted a support ticket and included the design. That way we could look at what you have. But let me give you a few things to check. Maybe that is the missing link:
The applique file that you want to export must be a closed object. It's possible if you imported the design from a third-party source it is not a closed object.
Do you have the object selected that you want to export?
Are you using v2 or v3?
