file Color Sequence Issues

AmbroMFG Posted 1 year 6 months ago

I am having a new issue with Hatch. A file that was sent to me in .EMB format when opened in Hatch is showing 4 colors. When I output the design to .DST format for sewing it adds colors to the sequence. The overall stitch count changed slightly and not sure why.

Hello,
DST cannot remember colors. Only color stops. So when you open it at your machine or in software it will take on the default colors of the machine. For DST and other stitch files that cannot remember the colors, you need to refer to your worksheet for the colors assigned in your EMB file.

As to why it has more colors at the machine or when you open it again?

Most likely your design only has 4 colors but the colors are not optimized. So you actually have more color stops. Which is what the DST /your machine can read.

Look at this design
It only has 4 colors.

But if you look in the sequence docker by colors you'll see it actually has 9 color stops because the colors are not stitching at the same time.

So in your machine (or if you open the DST file back up in Hatch) you will see that it shows 9 colors.

If you optimize your colors (Customize Design Toolbox > Optimize colors)
You'll see that now you only have 4 color stops

And when looking in the print preview you see the 4 colors are sewing together. So at your machine, it will open to the 1st 4 colors defaulted in the machine.
