How to digitize using running stitch

How do I get my design to use a running stitch? I assumed that I would use the click-to-centerline option but it always makes the design incomplete. Specifically the joints are never connected. I am attaching a picture to show what my design looks like. Thanks for any insight!

It is not you alone. I have the same problem.

I don't think you can do this with the auto-digitize function. I'm no expert, but I have found that there are quite a few limitations when you try to do it that way. I usually will "bite the bullet" and digitize something manually because I achieve better results. Hopefully, someone with more expertise will have a better answer for you.
