Software updates, paid or free?

I can't find any information on the Hatch website, so I figured I'd ask here.

Are they paid updates, or all updates free of charge?

I see that there's a V2, was it free, or did you have to pay an upgrade charge?

The Hatch Embroidery 2.0 was a paid update. Hatch 2.1 was a free update.
