What is this line and how do I get rid of it?

Hi,
I purchased a monogram (not hatch). It needed a little bit of cleanup so I went into edit stitch mode and deleted the a few extra stitches. But now I am left with this weird line across the monogram. See picture. It doesn't appear to be stitches because I can't click on it. Is there a way to get rid of it so I can show my customer the monogram without this line through it? Happened to me once before so I feel like it's some thing I am doing wrong.
